We're continuing to talk to voters in NY17's important swing district, coordinating with a coalition of grassroots groups in NY17. Until mid-September, we're doing Ground Truth's listening method of canvassing to understand what voters are really thinking about and why. Ground Truth isn’t traditional canvassing—it’s a whole new way of talking to voters. Together, we’ll gather authentic insights from communities, use cutting-edge tools to capture what we hear, and share it back with campaigns to strengthen their efforts. Why we’ve starting early: launching a year ahead of the midterms to build power before campaigns are even off the ground. How we’ll go big: knocking every door, not just the ones the voter database tells us to, so every conversation builds a more complete picture of the electorate. How we’ll go deep: practicing empathetic listening and real conversations that uncover voters’ “ground truth,” not just checking boxes on a script. For those of you who missed our Ground Truth training meetings, there is a virtual training every Friday 4-5pm. Our persuasion canvassing will begin in mid September and require new training that will be offered in late summer.
We car pool and take the Metro North as well. Many of us drive up from the UWS, but others meet us there at the train station in the Hudson Valley town chosen for that trip.
