In 2025, Lawler voted to slash funding for healthcare to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.  18,000 people in our district will lose their health insurance because of Mike Lawler, and we’ll have 800 fewer nurses.  

Skyrocketing prices for groceries, utilities and gas are the result of Trump and Lawler’s tariffs, and the cost of the U.S./Israeli war in Iran. 

One indicator of his political style: Lawler endorsed ultra-MAGA Elise Stefanik for governor.  Stefanik supported a lawsuit to overturn the 2020 election, voting against certifying Biden's electoral votes, and promoted baseless election lies.  She called the January 6 insurrectionists "hostages."  Stefanik backed a national abortion ban, opposed birth control, and called for ending Social Security and Medicare as we know them.  Lawler endorsed her.

Fun fact:   Lawler flew to California to support Michael Jackson in his pedophilia trial.  He was removed from the courtroom for muttering insults at a victim’s mother.  Lawler said we should “move on” from the Epstein scandal, dismissing it as “a colossal waste of time.”

Lawler’s Hudson Valley Congressional district has 80,000 more Democrats than Republicans, and voted for Kamala Harris for President. Analysts see it as a key opportunity to flip a seat from red to blue.
